1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to NjangiBase ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our platform, website, and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

NjangiBase is a pan-Cameroon mutual aid organization serving all Cameroonians across 10 regions. Our mission is to provide solidarity support during times of need through crowdfunding-based campaigns.

2. Definitions

  • "Member" refers to an individual who has been approved for membership in the NjangiBase.
  • "Chapter" refers to a local organizational unit of the NjangiBase in a specific geographic area.
  • "Campaign" refers to a solidarity fundraising effort for an eligible member.
  • "Contribution" refers to financial support provided to campaigns.
  • "Zone" refers to the economic classification (A, B, or C) based on country of residence.
  • "Probation Period" refers to the initial 90-day period after membership approval.

3. Nature of Our Service

Important: The NjangiBase is a mutual aid organization, NOT an insurance company or microfinance institution.

Our platform facilitates community solidarity through crowdfunding. Benefits are not guaranteed and depend on community participation and available funds. The NjangiBase does not guarantee any specific outcome or amount for any campaign.

Campaign types include: Death/Repatriation Support, Medical Emergency, Educational Scholarships, and Disaster Relief. Each campaign type has specific eligibility requirements and target amounts based on the beneficiary's zone.

4. Membership Eligibility and Requirements

4.1 Eligibility

To be eligible for membership, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a verified connection to Cameroon (by birth, parentage, heritage, or marriage)
  • Provide accurate personal information and supporting documentation
  • Be affiliated with an active NjangiBase chapter
  • Accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy

4.2 Application Process

Membership requires a two-stage approval process: first by your local chapter president, then by the NjangiBase administration. Approval is not guaranteed and is subject to verification of your Cameroon connection and compliance with membership requirements.

4.3 Probation Period

New members are subject to a 90-day probation period during which they are not eligible to receive campaign benefits. This period allows members to demonstrate their commitment to the community through regular participation and contributions.

5. Member Obligations

As a member, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful and accurate information in all submissions
  • Keep your contact information and profile up to date
  • Participate in solidarity campaigns according to your chapter's requirements
  • Respond to contribution obligations in a timely manner
  • Not submit fraudulent or misleading campaign requests
  • Respect other members and maintain the dignity of the community
  • Comply with chapter bylaws and network policies

6. Zone-Based Contribution System

The NjangiBase uses a three-zone system to ensure economic fairness across our global community:

ZoneContribution RateExamples
Zone A100%All of Europe, North America, Australia/NZ, Japan, Gulf States
Zone B50%South Africa, Nigeria, China, Brazil, India
Zone C25%Cameroon (homeland)

Campaign targets and contribution obligations are calculated based on these zone rates to account for economic disparities across regions.

7. Campaign Rules

7.1 Eligibility for Benefits

To be eligible for campaign benefits, members must:

  • Have completed the 90-day probation period
  • Be in good standing with their chapter
  • Have met contribution obligations for previous campaigns
  • Not have active campaigns already in progress (except emergencies)

7.2 Campaign Submission

All campaign requests must be submitted through the official platform with complete documentation. False or misleading information in campaign submissions is grounds for immediate membership termination and may result in legal action.

7.3 Review Process

Campaigns are reviewed by NjangiBase administrators who may approve, reject, or request additional information. The NjangiBase reserves the right to reject any campaign at its discretion.

8. Chapter Operations

Chapters are responsible for collecting contributions from their members. The method of collection (cash, mobile money, bank transfer) is determined by each chapter. The NjangiBase tracks obligations at the chapter level; internal member-level collection is the chapter's responsibility.

Each chapter must meet minimum membership requirements based on their zone and maintain active participation in the network to remain in good standing.

9. Intellectual Property

The NjangiBase platform, including its design, logos, content, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

11. Suspension and Termination

The NjangiBase may suspend or terminate your membership for violations of these Terms, failure to meet contribution obligations, fraudulent activity, or other conduct detrimental to the community. Terminated members forfeit any pending benefits and may be required to repay funds received under false pretenses.

You may request to terminate your membership at any time, subject to settling any outstanding obligations.
